The therapeutic relationship is one of non-judgment and is entirely client-led. After an initial discovery session, where goals and intentions are explored, the therapist may first meet with individuals separately before bringing everyone together. A clear plan will be established, with the flexibility to extend therapy beyond the initially agreed timeframe—this helps in setting clear boundaries while remaining open to ongoing exploration.

Relationship counselling isn’t always about ‘saving’ a relationship; rather, it’s about uncovering the truth of that relationship. The therapist will not impose any desired outcome—this neutrality is essential, as it allows for a deeper, more authentic exploration guided by the clients’ goals and intentions.
