WHAT WE’RE ABOUT

ANAM Therapy offers a soulful, non-judgmental approach to therapy. Soulful, in that no matter what you come with, we approach things through the lenses of transformation and evolution rather than pathology or problems.

Some people begin counselling because they feel there’s something that they want to talk through or work through. Others might be struggling with relationships, habits, depression, anxiety. The list goes on. The most important question to ask yourself if you’re thinking of starting therapy is not “Are things bad enough?”, but “Could my life be better?”

Most of my clients come into therapy with a ‘presenting issue’, but the way that I work is more than just about solving problems. Instead, we look at the whole tapestry of your life and see where things need to be felt, what needs to be spoken about, and what needs to be changed.

CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE

Therapy really begins as soon as you decide you need it. That’s often the most important step, and it makes all the difference.

We have a number of different offerings, depending on where you’re at in your life. Therapy usually involves directly addressing crisis, and building better habits. My therapy style is directive, which is not for everyone — I will offer suggestions, but you’re completely free to take or leave them.

Coaching on the other hand is more directive, and might involve a little more work in between calls based on what your goals are. Both, however, are client-lead, in that you set the pace, and you remain in the driver’s seat.

ist — how this looks practically is that the body plays a central role in my approach to wellness. We’re often disconnected from the wisdom of our bodies, and trying to solve problems of the mind with the mind. The ‘integrative’ part means that I draw from a number of modalities tailored to your needs: internal family systems (IFS), transactional analysis, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic and psycho-educational therapies, mindfulness-based & solution-focused therapy. I have a background in somatic bodywork, yoga, tantra, meditation & spiritual coaching, and I bring them into the room when necessary.

Ultimately, I see therapy as “soul service”, so if we’re not asking that big overarching question of what your one precious life is about, then we’re missing the point.

I work from an ecological perspective, seeing each person as a complex ecosystem, shaped by and shaping the wider world around them. Much of my work focuses on the disconnection that sits at the root of many psychological struggles.

In sessions, I offer a grounded, supportive space where clients can explore their inner world, develop more nourishing ways of coping, and strengthen self-awareness, self-worth, and self-care. Because relationship with self is everything. Get that down, and everything else will fall into place.
